What happened
ISRO launched GSLV-F17 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, at 2:55 am IST, placing EOS-05 into a sub-geosynchronous transfer orbit. EOS-05 is India's first imaging satellite from geosynchronous orbit, operating at roughly 36,000 km altitude. It is also the heaviest satellite placed by GSLV into sub-GTO. The 51.7-metre rocket has a liftoff mass of 420.5 tonnes. This was the 19th flight of the GSLV. The satellite supports visible, infrared, multispectral, and hyperspectral imaging with near-real-time capability.
